Infinitos

Infinitos is a transmedia project that integrates various disciplines around art and technology, it was created by the collective La Quinta del Lobo in an artistic residency commissioned by the Teatro Colón in Bogotá – Colombia between 2020 and 2021.

In these times where the venues of arts and culture were uninhabited, how do we continue to create? What is the role of the audience?

Infinitos ∞ is inspired by an epigraph from ‘El Aleph’ by Jorge Luis Borges, in which he quotes a phrase from ‘Hamlet’, that reflects on the perception of the invisible, of those small places that contain the universe in themselves, things we never noticed because we were living in a fast and turbulent world

“One Persian speaks of a bird that somehow is all birds; Alanus de Insulis, of a sphere whose center is everywhere and circumference is nowhere”.

‘The Aleph’, Jorge Luis Borges.

The project was divided into three phases and its objective is to tell the story and stories of this time through four categories: revelations, nostalgias, detachments and omens.

The first phase, launched in November 2020, began with the website https://infinitos.co/, where anonymous testimonies were collected from people who wanted to share their experiences during the context of the pandemic. This is how in this project, the public took an active role in the work, being co-creators thanks to their words.

During the second phase (January – March 2021), five films were released in which the writings collected on the website were translated into image, music, dance and action by a diverse group of artists.

Finally, from March 19 to 21, 2021 at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá – Colombia, the third phase was brought to life with an immersive performatic installation with these artists live on stage.

Infinitos has been performed also in Porto Alegre em Cena in Brasil in 2021 after an artistic residency where a pirtuguese version with local artists was created and in ExpoDubai 2020 in 2022 as part of the Official artistic activities from the Colombian Pavillion.
