Boundless Multimedia Series to show three distinctive productions

******************************************************

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Boundless Multimedia Series 2015 will stage three distinctive productions in September and October.

“Missing” by Gecko from the UK is an exploration of the depths of the human psyche. The storyline follows a woman who is suffering from an identity crisis with her soul in decay. Presented with fragmented scenes which interweave between reality and memories, it features a combination of projections, puppets, atmospheric lighting, movable viewfinders and physical dance, fully demonstrating the powerful body expressions and tensions of the performers. The company has taken its productions to more than 20 countries, including Russia, Poland and China. The programme will be staged at 8pm on September 11 and 12 (Friday and Saturday) as well as at 3pm on September 13 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Sheung Wan Civic Centre. Ticket prices are $220 and $280. This performance contains some coarse language.

“Fish in the Hand” is a collaboration by local artists with Lee Chun-chow and Kung Chi-shing as co-directors, Alain Chiu as composer and YanYu as playwright. Chamber orchestra, theatre and dance come together in this multimedia theatre production, which also features challenging interpretation of Cantonese operatic singing. The story confronts the humiliation of William the veterinarian – the darkest spot in his mind and something that he never admits to. The programme will be staged at 8pm on October 9 and 10 (Friday and Saturday) as well as at 3pm on October 11 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall. Ticket prices are $180 and $240. The performance contains adult content.

“Vanitas Libellum” by La Quinta del Lobo from Colombia is a multimedia performance that explores the concept of time and the form in which we perceive it. It consists of three acts: “Hourglasses”, “City in motion” and “Change of state”. Through illusionary visual effects and primitive body movements, it reflects the different visions, dreams and nightmares that humankind experiences in the passing of time. To enhance the impact, interactive technologies, real-time motion tracking, giant projection and original live music are used. The group was established in 2010 and since then has been working on “Vanitas Libellum”, which premiered in 2012. The work has been staged in Colombia, Brazil and Peru. The programme will be staged at 8pm on October 23 and 24 (Friday and Saturday) as well as at 3pm on October 25 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre. Ticket prices are $220 and $280. This performance contains nudity scenes.
